Top Tips: Preparing for Bridal Perfection

Wedding season 2019 is officially upon us and brides- to- be up and down the country are beginning the preparation towards their big day. If you are due to be married this year no doubt the bulk of the hard work and planning are now taken care of and the actual wedding date is looming closer.

Time to start thinking about how to start preparing yourselfthe bride (kind of a big deal).
Bridal wedding prep has its own niche altogether, akin to some sort of military mission on an international scale, but with shimmer, tan, lipstick and sparkles it can be a minefield to know where to start.

Our complete guide to wedding preparation will hopefully help you get organized and ready to look your very best on what is set to be, the best day of your life.

Hair

With a little bit of love, your bridal locks will be fit for a princess. Daily styling can cause heat damage and split ends that could make your perfect bridal hairstyle look wispy or dull. Deep conditioning treatments are a great way to nourish hair and teamed with an invigorating scalp massage will stimulate the hair follicles and give your mane body and bounce. It is worth noting that nothing in a bottle will fix broken ends, the only way to get rid of them is to book a trim.
Ensure your normal cut and/colour is booked in with your stylist before the wedding date to make sure you don’t miss out on an appointment

Face

Generally, it is not great to be starting a brand-new skin routine if you have less than about 6 months before your wedding as it can cause the skin to break out. The best ingredient for glowing skin is a healthy diet and (we can’t stress this enough) water! A couple of months before the wedding, a professional facial can unclog your pores and boost circulation in your face to give you that ‘just married’ glow ready for your wedding day.

Eyes

All those late nights deliberating over every detail of the wedding is bound to take its toll, possibly leaving you with puffy or dark eyes. Using a good quality product specifically tailored for eye care, along with a cool compress if they become particularly puffy will give you a good start towards improving their appearance. Salty food can cause eyes to look swollen so it is advisable to avoid them during the days before the wedding, to ensure you are ready for when your eyes meet your fiance's when you’ve walked up to the aisle.

Lips

In anticipation of hearing those infamous words “you may kiss the bride” get your pout ready for that seal-the-deal kiss. A gentle lip scrub can remove any weather damage (or damage from biting your lip at your mother-in-law's suggestions) and combined with a softening lip salve you will be ready for true loves kiss!

Neck and Decolletage

This might be an area that you would have overlooked but many wedding dresses show of a little neck and the skin on this area is more fragile and thinner than other areas of the body. A gentle exfoliator and daily moisturizer will get this area looking wedding-worthy.

Body

The stress of planning this all-important event may have caused you to become run-down and susceptible to illness. Taking a multivitamin can help to aid digestion an boost your battered immune system to avoid getting a bug just before you’re due to tie the knot. And for physical aches and pains, a massage will ease the knots in your muscles and get you feeling your best. Also, a full body exfoliation will remove dead skin cells and make your skin feel softer and tighter.

Legs

Your wedding dress might be floor length but that is no reason to ignore your legs. There’ s the wedding night to think about after all! Whether you shave or wax, ensure daily moisturizing to keep them soft and ready to walk you up the aisle.

Hands and Feet

Good hand and foot care can begin well in advance of your big day. You will want a luxury manicure and pedicure to help you relax and get your feet fit to don your wedding shoes, but in between pedicures you can keep them feeling great by removing dead skin with a pumice stone (on damp skin) and lathering on some rich moisturizer and popping your feet in socks. Just as with your nails and hands, you want to be showing off your new wedding ring to everyone so make sure your nails are looking bridal perfection with a manicure. Well cared for feet are less likely to blister and you can stay on your feet well past the first dance.
